A Halloween Werewolf by Alexis M. Ashikwe

My granddaughter, Lexi, wrote this delightful poem for Halloween and I asked her if I could share it with my readers today.

There once was a werewolf very sad,

No one liked him because he looked mad.

He’d get up at night and howl at the moon,

Almost as loud as a crying bassoon.

He also looked scary with all of his hair,

And didn’t have any clothes to wear.

Even though he looked normal by day,

Everyone still refused to play.

Then a girl with short blond hair

Came up to him and pulled out a chair.

He really only wanted a friend,

Now that he’s found one, this story will end.

    1. Thank you very much and I hope that I will have the pleasure of being like my grandpa. He is an excellent writer and I hope someday to be just like him

    1. Thanks for your kind words, Staci. Lexi is 11 and in grade 6 – she was very excited to make her debut on Papa’s blog! Happy Halloween to you too!

    1. Thank you very much for your kindness, JoAnn. Although just in grade 6, she’s an avid reader and is reading Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. Enjoy your day!
