I had no idea! I know that Amazon conducts witch hunts, but I had no clue it was in the book link code. Wow!

Yup! I like to FBI things all the time. I’ve had many author friends lose reviews because they’re accused of ‘knowing’ the author they’re reviewing on. It’s likely we’ve shared a review or linked to a book of a friend by copy and pasting the link from Amazon and all that gobbeldeegook that’s attached to the link is embedded in it, which leaves a trail who’s used that link. It’s exactly like those pop up ads that follow us wherever we go on the net. Like I may look at a pair of shoes online at The Bay and the next blog I read who has ads on their blogs, guess what’s advertised? Yup those exact shoes at The Bay! Big brother is watching us everywhere!
